The 2011 Texas Oklahoma Fair sheep winners included the Grand Champion Lamb (right) owned by Ashley Rhoads, Indiahoma, OK and the Reserve Champion Lamb (left) owned by Taryn Cunningham, Breckenridge, TX.




Judge Jimmy Keys from Joshua, TX sorted from 32 entries at the 2011 Texas Oklahoma Sheep show to find just the right combination of type and production that suited him. The competition was held on Sunday during the fair’s livestock show that also included milking goats, meat goats, cattle and horses. This year’s winner came from class 5 medium wools and was owned by Ashley Rhoads, Indiahoma, OK. This year’s reserve champion winner also came from the medium wool classes, but at a lighter weight. The lamb was owned by Taryn Cunningham, Breckenridge, Texas. Other class winners included: Class 1, fine wool, Brady Whitney; Class 2, fine wool cross, Kristen Kuehler; Class 3, medium wool (90—101 pounds), Gage Evans, Windthorst; Class 4, medium wool (110-117 pounds), Taryn Cunningham, Breckenridge, TX; Class 5, medium wool (120-131 pounds), Ashley Rhoads, Indiahoma, OK; Class 6, medium wool (134-153 pounds), Kaylie Walker, Seymour, TX. The junior showmanship winner was Taryn Cunningham and the senior showmanship winner was Ashley Rhoads.

Christy Collins from Fredrick Oklahoma and Randy Allgood from Vashti Texas were the judges that evaluated 84 head of cattle.

Shelby Womack from Nocona had Grand Champion Steer, Ritchie Demoss from Bowie had Grand Champion Heifer and also won senior showmanship and Morgan Yandell from Iowa Park won junior showmanship.
